As we celebrate the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), we thank Jesus for the continuous gift of his saving sacrifice. We always need to strive to receive Jesus more reverently and serve Him with greater love. To that end, we continue to review our Mass schedule that we feel can be improved with some modifications.

Again, the following are some reasons we see the need for a change in the mass schedule:

  1. We are focused on unity and our Church is not full at each Mass.
  2. Parking is very limited on the streets and parking in the city lots is only a courtesy that sometimes is not possible.
  3. The time between Masses is so tight that people are waiting to enter, resulting in the Masses being rushed at times.
  4. We only have two priests at Holy Infancy now.

Presently, on Sundays, we celebrate three Masses in English, one Mass in Portuguese and one Mass in Spanish. By reducing the number of Sunday Masses in English from three to two (combining the 11:15 AM and 12:15 PM Masses for example) we can create a new schedule with more space between all Sunday Masses.

In June some options for a new schedule of Masses will be offered in the bulletin for a couple of weeks. From those options you will be able to state your preference. Although we cannot fulfill everyone’s preference, our hope is to get a better understanding of your perspective from that survey. Our goal is to be able to celebrate the Holy Eucharist in the best way possible. Thank you for your prayer and consideration of this topic for the good of the whole community.
