Thank you for all those who made the sacrifice to Adore Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament these last two days!
TODAY: We will also have a Multilingual Family Holy Hour today, Sunday, September 16th from 3-4 PM where we encourage parents to bring their children to learn how to adore Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament.
Fasting in reparation for the sins of abuse
We are encouraged to offer fasting on the traditional Ember Days (which are days of fasting) that follow the Feast of the Triumph of the Cross.
These days can be days of partial abstinence from meat (only at the principal meal) and fasting (one principal meal and two smaller meals) on the following days:
Wednesday September 19th,
Friday, September 21st
Saturday, September 22nd
In difficult times, from the Old Testament until now, more prayer and sacrifice has always been the response of the faithful, trusting in God’s power to heal and renew his people!
I have started to hear Confessions on Saturdays from 3:30 PM and I have to finish by 5:00 PM so that I can prepare for the 5:15 PM Mass.
I will also hear confessions after the 7:00 PM Mass, or by appointment.
NOTE: Due to limitations on time and lack of participation, I will have to discontinue confessions on Thursdays before First Fridays. If possible, I will try to add more confessions at better times after I get used to this new schedule.
St. Michael the Archangel Prayer:
For more spiritual protection, starting this weekend, the entire diocese will start praying the St. Michael the Archangel Prayer at all Masses. We will offer this prayer after the final blessing (and before the recessional song at all the daily and weekend Masses). This will be the version of the prayer we will use. Please try to memorize it and pray it with us.
