People have asked if we should send clothing or to have a fundraiser for the victims of the flooding due to Hurricane Harvey.  Although those are good ideas, the best exercise of help is getting the needed monetary aid to the people who are on the scene and can direct it in the best way possible.
So, the Diocese of Allentown is participating in this second collection this weekend of September 9-10.  Funds given to the collection will support the humanitarian and recovery efforts of Catholic Charities USA and will provide pastoral and rebuilding support to impacted dioceses through the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.  You can make checks out to “Holy Infancy Church” and in the memo line write for Texas Relief and then we will forward one check of the total collection accordingly.
If you miss the collection, and/or want to send your donation directly please make your check out to and send to the following address: USCCB, Office of National Collections, P.O. Box 96278, Washington DC 20090-6278. Please include “Hurricane Harvey” in the memo portion of the check.
Thank you very much for being generous to this collection!
