On Monday, September 24th until October 2nd, I will be going on a pilgrimage to Poland that was planned over a year ago. We will be walking in the footsteps of St. John Paul II. I will be taking all of you with me in prayer asking for the intercession of this great saint. I will also be praying for the gifts of the Holy Spirit I need as Pastor to guide our parish through these difficult times. We will also be praying in the areas where St. Faustina received the message of Divine Mercy from Jesus and where St. Maximilian Kolbe and St. Teresa Benedicta (Edith Stein) died in Auschwitz. These Saints are an inspiration for how they laid down their lives in service of the Church in very difficult situations. I pray we have their dependence on God to receive the courage and zeal we need to fulfill our parish mission: We follow Jesus in His Catholic Church, who sends us to “go forth and make disciples” of the Lord. Matthew 28:19
I have started to hear Confessions on Saturdays from 3:30 PM and I have to finish by 5:00 PM so that I can prepare for the 5:15 PM Mass. For this reason, if confessions can be brief so that I can attend to everyone. IF you need an appointment to discuss things more in depth, please call the rectory. I will also hear confessions after the 7:00 PM Mass.
NOTE: Due to limitations on time and lack of participation, I will have to discontinue confessions on Thursdays before First Fridays. If possible, I will try to add more confessions at better times after I get used to this new schedule.
