Guidelines on Church Environment, Announcements, Petitions or Blessings, etc.

We want to serve you in ways that are possible, so here are some Guidelines:

Church Reverence and Silence: Various times, people have written in the question box- why we do not maintain silence Church and show reverence by the way we dress and act. Silence and reverence before and after Mass provides a sacred environment in which to recognize the Holy Presence of God in the Eucharist. By maintaining this sacred environment, we help each other pray in peace.

Sacristy: This word comes from the Latin sacristia, meaning the room where the sacred vessels and vestments are kept. It is a place where the priests and servers prepare spiritually for
the Sacred Liturgy we are about to celebrate. For that we need to maintain a quiet, prayerful spirit. So we are now asking that only those serving that day at the Mass would enter the sacristy.

All announcements: whether for the bulletin or to be read at Mass — must be sent to the Parish Secretary for review and the Pastor’s approval at least 10 days before the Sunday they are needed. This allows proper preparation of our parish communications and translations. Please do not bring announcements to the sacristy before Mass.

Hospitality Servers: They are fellow parishioners who are always at the entrance of the Church at the beginning and at the end of Masses. They are ready to welcome, guide you, and to direct you to how to find your answers. Anyone interested in helping in this area should ask one of the Hospitality Servers.

For Special Intentions & Petitions: We love to celebrate life’s milestones and support one another in prayer. If you would like us to recognize any of the following, please bring your written petition or request to our Hospitality Servers at the entrance of the church at the latest 10 minutes before Mass begins.

▪ Special Marriage Anniversaries (10, 25, 40, 50, 60+ years)
▪ Presentation of a Newborn
▪ Petition for the anniversary of the death of a loved one or a recently deceased
▪ Quinceañeras and Special Milestone Birthday Blessings
▪ Entering the Military
▪ Moving from Our Community

Our Hospitality Servers will ensure your intentions are brought forward at the appropriate time during Mass, but it must be no later than 10 minutes before Mass.
